Slip on.

Today Gabe is wearing a green jacket, a grey sweatshirt, khaki pants, and his outdoor slippers.

What are outdoor slippers? It’s simple. They are slippers you wear outside.

When we were living in San Francisco, we shared a crammed apartment with anywhere between 4 and 7 other people at any given time, and discovered the simple pleasure of wearing slippers outside. They’re warm and comfortable, and as long as they have good soles, they are just great.

But your outdoor slippers can’t also be your indoor slippers, since your outdoor slippers can get dirty, so it’s important to designate a pair of slippers specifically for use in the great outdoors. They can’t be furry and they can’t look like slippers exactly – it’s all about illusion and the secret luxury of wearing slippers all day long.

By the time we moved out in 2011, at least four of the housemates had a pair of outdoor slippers, though natch, Gabe wore them most and wore them best.

I wear Birkenstock clogs unless it’s raining out, then I wear trainers. Outdoor slippers are a wonderful idea; I certainly wouldn’t have known they were slippers if you hadn’t said so! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

It’s the matter of yesterdays when slippers were thought to be used only at home and not outside… but today’s outside slippers and flip flops are just fab., and serve dual purpose

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I have to confess a concern – does Gabe only own one set of clothes, or many sets that are all the same colors? Very funny – good luck on all your projects!

Thank you for liking my post :-)I would have asked a similar question to Wade Venden’s, thanks Wade for beating me to it. 🙂 So, can I please have your job and Gabe’s outdoor slippers, which I would inevitably wear inside and well, two pairs of different colours I guess ;-D)
