Today Gabe is wearing a green jacket, a yellow t-shirt, a beige fleece, khaki pants, and brown shoes.
We were on a walk this last Friday and we both had a serious deja vu experience. Does anyone like the feeling of deja vu? It’s always so creepy and makes me feel really uneasy for long after it’s over.
Well, it used to anyways. This Friday’s deja vu was maybe the most amazing deja vu experience that’s ever happened.
We were walking along the water towards Alki Beach when it hit us. To our left, a man with a long (and I mean long) white ponytail, black leather jacket, and light blue jeans was doing tai chi. At the Puget Sound. And when I say AT the Puget Sound, I mean his motions looked like he was sending a direct challenge to the waves to come get him if they dared. His long arms and legs waved through the air, and he seemed completely indifferent to anyone who might have been watching.
To our right, an older couple walking in the opposite direction coming towards us. They were chatting while they walked, when suddenly the woman absolutely burst out laughing at something the man had said. She was howling with laughter, so much so that her partner started chuckling too. She clapped her hands and doubled over; he covered his grin with his hand.
Everything about this moment was a delight.
And the best part was – the exact same thing had happened the Friday before.
We were looping around the same stretch of sidewalk towards the beach. The same white-ponytailed man was giving a “come at me, bro” to the crashing waves. The same couple was laughing together, walking past us in the opposite direction.
It should be said that Gabe was probably wearing the same outfit both times too.
I don’t know what it means. But I like it.
And I’m really looking forward to this Friday.
